Stuff keeps happening
Well, I haven't posted for a while. There are a number of reasons why this could be but the main one is really that I have become simply so fantastic at my job that I haven't screwed up and so have learnt nothing. Kinda. But see, I was thinking about this and there's no reason why I can't post simply because nothing's exploded. What kind of crazy world would that be? So this is me taking my life into my own hands and posting for kicks :).
While nothing's exploded there have been a good few surprise!experiments. For example, one of my compounds is a wonderful thing that basically looks like dark brown sludge. It's viscous. It's sticky. It doesn't dissolve in anything. Yeah, I'm not a big fan. So anyway I sent a sample of this off to a customer and rejoiced with great joy that I could hopefully now hand it straight over to production and never see it again. It was a good day.
Anyway, long story short, the ungrateful bastards who are our customers want me to make this compound colourless. Apparently the fact that it's dark brown is annoying. IKR. As a result I've spent the major part of this week running this stuff through columns of charcoal. It's been incredibly boring, has taken for ever and HAS COVERED EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF GLASSWARE IN AN UNREMOVABLE FILM OF GUNK THAT I NOW MUST SCRUB OFF BY HAND. But on the bright side the colour has changed. I have gone from brown to... (drumroll) lurid yellow. That's right, my compound makes canaries look bland. One of my colleagues though it was Fairy liquid.
Somehow this doesn't seem fair.
