Amazing, huh! :D Lotta and Madelene, don't let your kids watch this!
These are probably all going to be christmas gifts, at least the tree small ones. :) Those are for Tyra's calendar and will all include a pixi-book. I hope that she'll have the rest of her pixi-books in them as well. :) There are a lot and they are everywhere!
Pattern: My own Pixi-book bag! Very easy sewn, and next time I'm going to make a paper-pattern, so that I don't have to measure everything! :)
The large bag is a Ottebre pattern, with a few changes. I think it is called polka-dot bag, or something like that.
Time: All four bags, about three-four hours with cut, sew and everything.
Good: Everything went very smoothly, and I'm very satisfied with everything. But it was easy to fix. Everything that could, was sewn on the overlock, the tricky stuff plus an extra seem on the corners were done on the sewing-machine.
Bad: The only misstake I did when I sew the pockets for the large bag and excidently had the fabric double.
Fabrics: From left to right:
Large bag (barely visable in this photo): Åhlens (sale) and Madelene's curtains from Jotex that didn't fit.
Hello-Kitty bag: The outer-fabric is from my mom's storage, as well as the inner fabric. The Hello-Kitty figure is bought at H&M a little while ago and is pressed on with the iron.
Pink bag: The outer-fabric is from Åhlens (sale) and the inner blue with silver dots from mom's storage.
Pippi Långstrump bag: The pippi fabric is from Åhlens (not sale) and are left-overs from Tyra's pillow-case. The inner-fabric is from mom's storage.
Order: These were more or less mass-produced.
1. Fixed patterns and fabric matching. Cut all the pieces out. (was made Saturday)
2. Sew all the sides and bottoms on the overlock.
3. Fixed all the handles plus extra seam on the bottom on the sewing machine.
4. Fixed the pockets for the bag. This should move up as nr 2!
5. Nailed everything together. As I didn't leave a seam open in the sides of any of the bag, I nailed the whole top for them all and sew it right there. Handles pixi-book bag: 4 cm from side seam. Handle big bag: 6 cm from side seam.
The big bag I'm a bit unsure if I should keep for myself, or give to one of my nieces for christmas gift... I don't know yet if I'm pleased enough to give it to one of them (it is a bit undetailed on the outside), or if the pattern of it really fits any of them. I'll have to sleep on that.
I still have buttons to put on, until they are completely finished. :) And the photos are taken with my crappy cellular-camera. Anders figured out the other day that we didn't have Photoshop installed on any of the computers, and right now I don't want to bother with fixing that. :)
Apart from that, we've done grocery shopping, timed Anders doing the jump-thingy-test (which he passed, he is preparing for police-stuff-test), ate food at my mom and dad, played with Tyra, had "kvällsmat" with Tyra's grandfather, watched Bollibompa, cleaned the house, puzzled, played with Tyra etc. Not really in that order.
Tomorrow it will be C-essay wich will be the main focus. After my darlings' get home we'll head to take a swim and eat hamburgers. :) And Tyra will be happy to wear her Ariel swim-suit.
And ANTM wise, the winner really deserved to win, even though I cheered for the girl who didn't get to the final two. :S
