House 3x12 "One Day, One Room"

1) If ever there was a good time to apply the word "clusterfuck," I do believe this would be it. That was... a crap of an episode.

Girl: I want you as my doctor.
House: Why?
Girl: I dunno.
House: Well, that isn't very rational.
Girl: Life isn't rational!
House: Uhm, yeah, it kind of is--
Girl: No it isn't, and I totes want you as my doctor.
House: But WHY?
Girl: I DON'T KNOW!
House: Okay, whatever.
Girl: NO, SERIOUSLY, I HAVE NO IDEA.
House: OKAY, WE GET IT.
Girl: NO, I TOTALLY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA. REALLY, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I WANT YOU AS MY DOCTOR. DID I MENTION THAT I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I WANT YOU AS MY DOCTOR? BECAUSE I TOTALLY HAVE NO IDEA. BTW, JESUS ROCKS MY SOCKS.
Audience: ::is having multiple boredom-induced seizures::

It was just awful. And although I certainly don't know the fine details of the psychology of rape victims, I am 100% sure that this is NOT how they typically act and that this episode was a complete insult to everyone who knows anything about rape. Rape is not good fodder for philosophical discussion, it is a traumatic event that requires more than a couple walks in a park to recover from. Not to mention that even though the girl being raped was a big plot device, it was never actually directly adressed in any way; it was only there to facilitate lots of painful discussion about... I don't even know what they were talking about for a half an hour. Jesus.

Also, the woman who played the raped girl was just about the worst actress ever. And the dialogue was so bad. You may think that I was paraphrasing in my little recap up there, but a lot of those lines are actually direct takes from the episode.

Also, Cameron needs to be axed in the skull. Right now.

WHY THE FUCK DOES THIS SHOW HAVE TO BREAK MY HEART.

2) On a brighter note: Wilson in a sweatervest. ♥

3) House and Wilson in the park: total love.

4) House and Wilson in Wilson's office: also love.

5) House and Wilson playing foosball: so much love!

6) Clinic patients: hilarious love!

7) Rest of the episode: no love.

The scariest part is that the writer of this episode is David Shore, the freaking creator of the show. It's no wonder that season 3 has sucked with him at the helm-- I have no idea why seasons 1 and 2 were so good with him in control, but I think the fame has gotten to his head now-- but the saddest part is that even though he's probably directly responsible for the suckiness of this season, I'm actually now lucky that he hasn't been directly involved in the writing of more episodes.
