Hooouuuseee. And Friday Night Lights.
Overall Ep Rating: pretty crappy!
Gaydar Rating: a blip or two
1) I am seriously getting pissed off at this show. I've been in denial for a good long time, but I think I'm finally coming to terms with the fact that this show is just not very good anymore. For a LOT of reasons. And it's breaking my heart, which is extremely pathetic, but there you are: I have invested a huge amount of energy and emotion into this show and now it's dying. It's not witty, or funny, or smart or insightful or unique anymore. The characters are getting two-dimensional, the writing is flat, the plotlines are plain ridiculous and the medical mysteries are not very compelling. Hell, they're not even very medical or mysterious.
The show used to be mostly about the medical case, and the character interactions were woven into it. And whenever we got a scene with just the characters it was a treat. Now the show is 30% actual medical stuff and 70% character, only the character stuff is horrible. I want Tritter off my screen right now; he is contributing NOTHING to character development or anything, his plot doesn't even make any sense. Houes has become a one-note jackass, Cameron's character is just plain irrational and annoying, and while I've never cared much for Chase or Foreman, they've become wallpaper too. Cuddy is now a spineless coward who constantly shrieks at House without ever doing anything and takes constant sexual insults from him which no boss should have to endure, and her baby storyline just confuses me (although hopefully last night's episode marked the end of it. However, if this is the end, I look back on it without any more insight into her character and wonder what the hell the point was). Wilson, ironically enough, is going in the opposite direction of all the other characters and is actually being given more depth and complexity to the point where it's almost overwhelming. I just don't know what the writers think they're doing.
2) The Gay was on the down-low this episode. House and Wilson only talked to each other for about five minutes and I don't even remember what that conversation was about, if anything. House laser-pointing the back of his head was about the sexiest thing that happened all episode.
3) Wilson in a sweatervest? By FAR the high point of the episode. Mmmmmm.
4) There are literally NO downloads posted anywhere for this episode. What the fuck!?
5) This show makes me weep bitter, bitter tears.
And then FNL:
1) Matt Seracen! Acting all awkward! Awww. And the coach's daughter is probably the only good young female character on the show. I could shoot Lyla in the face.
2) Tim is really starting to annoy me. Mostly because of his association with Lyla, though. Dude, just tell her to fuck off. And then she'd have no one and she'd weep and I'd laugh.
3) Angry Jason! Good for punching Tim and better for dumping Lyla, man.
4) Jason playing Wheelchair Ball was fairly amusing. Although I felt kind of sad and embarassed for him.
