So according to the guy who writes the ongoing Star Trek comic series, there were "thematic clues" to the sequel in the 4th comic issue. Which, now having read said issue, makes me very nervous. Because this issue features Uhura STEALING A SHUTTLE TO GO RESCUE SPOCK WHICH IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL and Kirk just WAVES IT OFF AND EVEN CONGRATULATES HER ON HER AWESOMENESS and then LITERALLY LOCKS SPOCK AND UHURA IN A ROOM TOGETHER TO HAVE SEXYTIMES. I so, so wish I was making this shit up, but I am not. He "confines them to their quarters for a few hours, shared confinement." And thne I threw up all over my shoes. Seriously? That is the most ridonkulous thing I have ever heard. Now, this isn't necessarily the "thematic clue" that the writer was talking about, but the comics are supposed to be a direct tie-in to the sequel, so, uh.
And I have no problem with Spock/Uhura in the movie itself. In general it rubs me the wrong way because of my devotion to Kirk/Spock, but I know that's pretty much just my problem. But if they're going to insist on keeping it going in the sequel, please don't do it in such a ridiculous way that I throw up in my mouth a little. I know I'm going to have to set myself upform ore S/U in the movie than I'm going to want to bear with, and I'm going to have to put aside my ridiculous ~feelings to properly enjoy the movie, but... just... it cannot be anything like this. I just can't. AND WHAT HAPPENED TO KIRK AND SPOCK BEING SOULMATES ANYWAY THEY COMPLETE EACH OTHER UGH here I go again. Kirk/Spock I wish I knew how to quit youuuu
oh look i'm being a loser again
