Good morning

So quite the wakeup call this morning. 7h30 phone rings didn't have time to pick up. A few minutes later phone rings again. Anyhow, the person asks me if I know who it is. Errrr I'M not awake NO! Anyhow, it's a kid that used to hang at the center.

One of the his roommates is acting real wacko, in a coma state. They wanted a detox center. From what he was saying, it wasn't detox, it was the hospital emergency. So anyhow, they were really lost and didn't know what to do so I said that I would go over.

So the guy is awake unlike what I had heard on the phone. He's just "lost in space". From the info I gathered and seeing him, it was definitly a hospital case at the moment. Typical shcidso (don't know how to spell it) case. I managed to get the kid to say a few words. Anyhow, asked him if he wanted help. Yes. Asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital. Didn't answer but less than 30 seconds later he had his coat on and was waiting for me to put mine on.

Just before we left, another kid told me he had pepper spray on him. He didn't want to give it to me or leave it at the house so I had to give him options for both our security. Either you leave it here or I have to call the ambulance and police. Anyhow, I ended up calling the police for advice and I also spoke with the ambulance dispatch.

Less than 15 minutes later, 2 cop cars with 2 cops in each & 1 ambulance was at the door. I went out to meet them and explained a bit. I offered to bring him out and saying that he was very cooperative. So that's what we did. I walked in the house and lost as he was, was on his feet waiting for me to bring him out. All went well.

For a kid that didn't know me, from what I heard that he was scared of shit that everyone was out to get him and kill him, that 2 days earlier said something that the cops were out to kill him, he was really, really cooperative. It was like real obvious that he wanted help and in his own way, was real happy of what was happening. Was more than happy to let the cops search him and hop in the ambulance.

All is well that ends well. What is more gratifying for me is the fact that he didn't know me and right off the bat, he trusted me and talked with me especially after hearing about his eratic behaviour, that even if everyone was out to kill him, he was more than willing to hop in my car and let me take him to the hospital. Also, the fact that the ones that called me, are kids that used to hang at the center, kids that I was totally harsh with, banned them from the center many times, one of them for life, kids that threatened me and hated me. The fact that they were there, that we talked and somehow laughed a bit, that we were working together to help this kid, that I calmed them down when they heard the cops were coming over (lets just say that have lots to hide...), meant a lot to me. To me, it was kind of like a thank you, we realise that you were hard on us not because you don't like us, but because you want to help us. But most of all, they trust me.

If the day starts this good, the rest of the day should be pretty cool.

Love yas
Eric
