A brand new day of a brand new year.

By the time the sun rises, the circus is gone. The shadows have withdrawn taking the colors, music, and festivities of the night with them, and loom dark and foreboding at the edges of the city. All the circus-goes, performers and creatures return to their former lives as ordinary people and prepare to drag themselves through another day. All those who managed not to escape death during the night awake alive, whole, a bit disoriented, and begin to continue on with their existances. For the residents, this is all part of the usual morning routine.
Through the streets they move, slow as zombies, toward their homes or their jobs or their schools, mumbling a few words to one another in passing. Though most may have woken up as different people than they were when darkness fell, the night's memories are far from lost.
