2017 Accomplishments and 2018 resolutions
New Year’s Resolutions
1) Be kinder to the environment! This past year I switched (for the most part) to cruelty-free beauty products. I don’t think it’s right that an animal has to suffer just because I want to be pretty. Now I want to focus on everyday products that are more natural/have less chemicals that are damaging to the environment as well as looking into the zero waste movement. My friend shared a video about it and I realized that while recycling is all well and good it still uses energy and it would be better to avoid making trash in the first place. I’m going to start making tweaks here and there to reduce waste. For example, I switched to a makeup cleansing oil since I can put that directly on my skin instead of using a makeup remover that uses cotton rounds. I also started keeping a steel straw in my purse so I can use that in restaurants instead of their plastic straws. Plastic lasts forever so nothing disposable should be made of plastic. I’ll share what I find on facebook.
2) Move out! I was supposed to do this this past year and I got bogged down with too many things as well as indecision but I think I’m finally ready to take that plunge and I’m definitely ready to have my own space, as much as I love my family. This will be the first goal I work on.
3) Lost weight! If I can just lose the weight that I gained then that would be good enough. I have trouble keeping motivation to exercise so I want to keep looking for something that works for me.
4) Read more! Actually I read plenty but I want to read the box of books that have sat unread for a long time. (I’ve been working on them in the last few months but it takes time, especially as many as I have and when they are only part of a series). I also want to read more manga.
5) Catch up! I want to spend less time doing new stuff and more time catching up on things that have been sitting around waiting to get done. Catch up on my movie watch list, my book reading list, my sewing want list, my cross stitch projects, etc. After AWA I haven’t done much cosplay stuff except for fixing a few things and I have loved not spending all my time on cosplay
