How bout "It's sad that name alone could cause a voter to ignore a candidate." It's the negative, that people say, "Oh his name is foreign-sounding, he could have the best policies in the world, but I still won't vote for him because he sounds different." It's ignorance in its worst form.
Serious, there was a report of Biden visiting a diner, and the reporter talked to the lady he was visiting with after he left. She said she felt bad because she wasn't voting for them and he had spent the time with her. Her reason? The name "Barack Obama" just wouldn't do for the President of the United States. That and the mistaken belief that he was Muslim.
Obama does have a grasp of economic issues. You may not share in his views on health care or spending, but he does have them, and they are consistent with his party. Hey, he was the only one not pandering with a gas tax holiday, recognizing that it wasn't going to change the underlying trend in gas prices! Palin, on the other hand, is a of the "No New Taxes" party, but has raised taxes in Alaska. Alaska, where the general populace gets a share of the oil (yes, there is already some drilling there) profits.
