Shweeeo!

Ah, busy busy days! I got my acceptance letter from UAH today. It says I need to get immunization records, my official transcript (which I've already sent) and to come up with a plan of study and other things. AAAAAAAAAAH! When to do all this stuff!
I have to go home in order to vote which is when registration at UAH is as well, so I'll be killing two birds with one stone that day. I talked to my painting instructor and I only have one recorded absence. He urged me to go vote, which I was going to do anyway. So, in short, I won't dislike him personally when I leave the school. I was going to vote anyway, but it does make me feel better knowing my professors encourage young people to go vote.
I got a John Kerry 2004 button today. I'm happy about it. It's not like it will sway the state of Alabama to the left and win the election for Kerry and Edwards, but at least I'm advertising to others that it is, in fact, okay to vote for democrats in Alabama. I encountered an individual, who is nice enough, but thought that my views as a liberal individual concerned with environmental issues were going to be easily broken or disproved. However, his retorts, which were mostly meant to get a rise out of me, were shallow and easily repudiated. So, I think I represented my views well. He kept on making very rash assumptions about what I was going to say, though. I don't think he realized how patient I am with people of his sort. I grew up in a family FULL of people like him! He even called me a tree-hugging hippie and a femi-nazi. I explained to him what feminism is and the different types of feminism and how pollution and the environment affects everyone. I didn't tell him to go naked into the woods and live there as a vegetarian or anything, but I was a little irritated at his presumptuous manner. I don't go about telling people who are voting for Bush that they are stupid, shallow idiots that don't care if people starve. I realize that this stereotype is not always true, so I'm not going to attack anyone for voting differently than myself. There are obnoxious democrats, republicans, libertarians and whoever votes for Nader, so I don't want to be one of those people. This is why I did not get a "No W" pin. I want people to respect my views, so I will respect theirs if they are well formed and thought out, though I will not be mean to anyone's who are not. I will gladly discuss politics with anyone who is unsure of the issues. I am not an expert, but for being a busy college student I do think I am well informed. BAh! Politics are a headache, I will admit.
Well, I'm done rambling now.
Anyway, I carved another layer away in printmaking. I get to print it and hope it's registered properly some time later this week. I'm not looking forward to screwing up all my prints. Pooh!
Signing off,
Circusfish...
