Last night turned out fantastic mysteriously. I was meandering, I've been doing that a lot waiting for Saturday, when two gentlemen approached me to ask a question about where to eat.
This was of course in Croatian (simply Croatian since they were Croats I guess) and I was all 'woah there cowboy, govorite li engelski' and they copped on that I was not Croatian or Bosnian.
In short I tagged along with them for a meal and learned that they had a play on that night. It wasn't in English but what the hell, let's go.
It was similar to Shakespeare Abridged but different and definitely not in english. All the same it was a worthwhile use of a night.
Afterwards there were drinks for the performers, organizers and me, the randomn westerner who was a guest for completely happestance reasons.
It seemed kin of cliquey in that the organizers all were on one end of the table and the play's crew and myself at the other.
We talked about Canada (namely, as always, blaming it) and Croatia and Bosnia. They recommended to me the island of Vis and Bisevo. They told me that Lokrum was cursed and to not sleep on it. Apparently if you sleep on it you will die of unnatural causes. A little vague but I took the warning to heart.
I also got their details as they claim they will be in Dubrovnik for the month of July. I'm quite hopeful to meet up with them as they were quite nice and funny and Dubrovnik is meant to be expensive. Have to see how it goes.
After the drinks I attempted to get a taxi back to camp but none existed. I put on my rain jacket with obnoxious reflective stripes on and set my face to a grimace. I walked the 3km to bed and was asleep by 2.
I spent today in an internet cafe appeasing the masses by posting 30 billion photos on the worlds slowest upload connection ever. The only upside is that about five hours cost me maybe 3 euro. Booya.
The only thing left to do today is find some detergent so I can do some laundry. Otherwise I'm free to sit around and people watch as they cross the bridge. yay.
