Just a quick thought, but in the last twelve hours I've seen two things where the 'normal human can't successfully fight/should be protected from superpowered beings' rule applied to men too. I'm probably just over sensitized from watching the Buffyverse ham-fist this issue to the point of, IMO, undermining the feminist message in BtVS, but seeing it in two separate pieces of fiction that aren't even intended for the same target audience just made me happy.
