Today, I tried to do work. Keyword: Tried.
The more I look at the books for my KI IS, the more irritated I feel. If only I could get the whole thing done in a week and be done with it.
And Literature H3. It's such a disaster, with the proposal due in less than 2 weeks and me having no clue whatsoever about what I intend to do and what is LIT-y enough to do on. Everything seems so KI. Ah, seriously can't wait to get both the papers over and done with and have the freedom to read books I really want to read (and no, they are not all trashy).
Spent the past week talking to and hanging out with people I never really knew or tried to know. It's surprising how wrong you can be about people, I guess I need to stop assuming so much; stop assuming my assumptions are accurate and letting them cloud my judgment. It's refreshing, with the change in conversation topics and the jokes of a different kind. Sorry Vaneh! (though you have to admit it was quite win!)
Gattaca; watched it again today. The movie is so quotable. I never saved anything for the swim back. Jude Law looks uglier than he should in the movie but Ethan Hawke looks quite dashing. Looks aside, the story is lovely. Underdogs, ftw! AMANDA GO WATCH THIS, I am sure you will love it. I want to go read Vincent/Jerome fiction if there is any out there, which I think there is, but once I start reading it'll be quite hard to stop. For the sake of my non-existent Literature H3 proposal, I have to shelve that idea till goodness knows when. :(
Yesterday Aran asked me what kind of music I listen to/what's my favourite music. And I couldn't answer him.. I keep listening to the same playlists over and over. Sticking to the familiar and even then, what do I really REALLY like?! I could say Stars, Anberlin, Copeland, Fall Out Boy... Just because I like them enough to watch them in concert. But that doesn't mean they're my favourites. I need people like Gen around who would actively send you new songs to listen to! Bah.
Meanwhile, I shall stick to replaying songs like A Slow Descent - Straylight Run. To my newest drinking buddies: The beginning of the song is quite apt, right.
A slow descent from unique to routine, over and over, "just do it again and this time with feeling".
