Chapter 24

Tripping over each other in their hurry, Luke and Sally made their way to the couch, the first available horizontal surface that wasn’t made of wood. Sally’s excitement put off great waves of magical energy that ran through Luke like shockwaves, little jolts of electrocution that left his brain happily disjointed in the rush. She lifted his shirt off of him in one smooth motion and pushed him backward onto the threadbare couch. It squeaked as he landed on it; neither of them took much notice.
