The Night Before the Mission

Setting: Ichiraku
Summary: It is the night before Sai's next mission with team seven to search for Akatsuki members. He then meets Tenten for the first time...
Sai took another bite of ramen finding to his surprise that he actually enjoyed the taste. He then began to understand why Naruto like to come here so often, then again remembered that no ramen is worth obsessing over. In either case, it was nice to have a decent meal finally after a hard day full of training and prep for the mission the next day. It was beginning to get rather late outside, and though he knew he should probably hurry up and get some rest, he decided to take his time and enjoy his meal.
A gentle night breeze came by and cooled him. He felt goosebumps on his arms and legs. He sighed and continued to eat, wondering if he would ever really learn common courtesy. The books he had read thus far haven't really helped to improve upon casual conversation, but he was giving it every shot, and was tired of bloody noses from Sakura. Letting out a second sigh, he looked down at his plate, loosing all hope he had of ever knowing what it is like to really have friends.
Without friends, he felt that he would never really understand the true meaning of bonds. Instead of worrying too much about the subject, he just put it aside and took another bite, hoping that the good taste of food might comfort him for his numerous failures at getting anyone to like him.
