A few months ago I started working with Kiwanis. I never knew what they did, but would see them on my twitter feed a lot, because their logo is a K with a circle around it, hence Circle K. I would get tagged a lot. Anyway, I really enjoy what they do and they are big in our community. Our town has 38,000 people and about 15,000 are on our city FB social page. They whine and complain about traffic because even though our town has grown from 7,000 to 38,000 in 10 years, the streets have not changed.
Last week was our annual Christmas parade that is sponsored by Kiwanis. I was in charge of parking and worked with the city on this. It was a lot of fun. We promoted this a month in advance, the city had signs for weeks before the parade stating main st would be closed from 4pm-6pm on that day. Everyone talked about it, HOWEVER the night of the parade there were so many people irate at the city that they would close downtown for this parade.
I don't know if it is because of social media or what but it is so annoying how whiny adults get on things. Is your city/town like this also?
