Day Two; Entry One

This is the second day of my travels in this town. I stayed at the local's home and left early this morning to do my sightseeing. This place is a lot larger than I thought it would be! I feel like I must be walking in circles... I need to buy a map or something, otherwise I'm going to get lost. The heat here is pretty bad too, this time of year, but as long as I stay in the shade, I'll be all right.

[A few things are scribbled/listed here, that seem to be different shops in the town with numbers written next to them. The numbers have been scribbled out and rewritten multiple times.]

I met another local this morning, guy who owns a restaurant and grabbed a bite to eat over at his place. He's a pretty great guy, kinda scary, but really friendly. We talked about a few places I should check out while I'm in town, and he told me what he'd heard about the festival. Nothing I hadn't already heard, but it was nice to talk to someone else about it.

I still haven't found a place to stay yet. I might spend a night out under the stars tonight, just because the weather is going to be nice. I'm already running pretty low on money thanks to the expenses of the travel coming here, so I'm trying to save up as much as I can. I've got to look into a way to maybe make a little extra while I'm here. Do some odd jobs, if this village is the type that hires people like that. Everyone seems nice enough, so I don't know why it wouldn't be possible.

I'm going to finish my food and get myself hydrated before I go out sightseeing again. Really need to cool off.

Day Two; Entry Two

I heard from another local that there's some pretty rich stuff in the soil here if you know what you're doing. I'm used to working with the ground a lot, so I decided I'd try my luck at it. After a few hours of playing in the dirt and digging holes in one area, I came up empty handed. I figured that was probably what would happen, but there wasn't any harm in trying. I'm disappointed, but at least now I know I won't find anything. Maybe I'll get lucky later on, but no treasure for me now.

[A few circles and marks are scribbled on the page and in the margins, with X's through all of them.]

I've definitely got to be coming down with something. I knew my body was feeling a lot different since I've arrived. I still think it must be something in the air up here, maybe the altitude change or something like that. I've been dealing with my body disagreeing with me ever since I came here. I'm still able to move around pretty well, I jogged a bit earlier and I didn't have any trouble breathing...

I thought I might have hurt my arm earlier, but everything seems to be working okay now. Good as new, doesn't hurt or anything, does everything it's supposed to. But my body as a whole just feels... off. I tried out a move I saw my old friend do earlier, this thing he was trying to teach me, but I just can't get the hang of it. Maybe it's just something I'll never learn. I can't be good at everything.

I think sleeping will do me some good. I'm out under the stars like I planned, found a nice spot away from everything else. This village is pretty peaceful, once you get used to it, but I bet it'll be pretty chaotic once the festival goes into full swing.
