crack!theory. For fun!

Because I know I'm not the only one who follows this theory.

Gregoir + Wynne = Cullen? Discussion and pictures below the cut. )

This theory's been tossed around a lot, actually, so you're definitely not the only one. Haha. In fact, Crisium even included it prominently in her fanfic.

That said, the screencaps are amazing, hahaha. Greagoir with Cullen's hair, and visa versa, really threw me for a loop. Also, young!Wynne is bangin'.

And just where have YOU been, young lady?! The Jowan banner is heavy and difficult to carry alone!

I have no objections to the theory, but I really can't go off of appearance of their in game models. I imagine they reuse base models and tweak slightly, so you could probably make everyone in the game related to everyone else using this method alone. At least, I would HOPE they have base models they tweak in different ways, as modeling each character from SCRATCH would be a gigantic bitch to do (if you can't tell, I hate 3D modeling SO MUCH).

A part of me hopes that Gregoir/Wynne is canon at least. :)

Actually, two blue eyed parents being unable to have a child with any other eye color is a common misconception. The truth is that genetics are far more complicated than that, and there's a very good explanation for the phenomenon on the Stanford blog and their lovely "Ask a Geneticist" feature.

I am so with you on this ship. I think I found a fanfic a while back that had Wynne basically seducing Gregoir (oh the feeling was quite mutual between them...just a matter of pushing him in the right direction) during a mage festival thing. In my head!canon, that's when Cullen was conceived. :D

I love this theory so much. Partly becausee I can just see it, and partly because I hate that Cullen has this shame/guilt complext like he's the only Templar who's fallen in love with a mage and there is no way that's true given the close conditions they all live under and...Templars are just hawt. I'd take a buff Templar over a wimpy mage any day ( ... )

The "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" part of it does have a certain sweetness to it, even as it tugs at the heartstrings.

I would love to see a fic exploring this (a Cullen/mage romance with perspective from Gregoir and Wynne)

And see, now? You can't just throw out ideas like that, because they're interesting and plot nug bites hurt and I have so much fic to write already...

Indeeed you do! But its such a good little plot nug, isn't it?

I feel we need to spread this theory as far as we can until it's considered "fan-canon" jakia February 14 2010, 16:55:59 UTC
Dude if you could share that fic with me I'd love you forever. :D

I'm not sure why I love this theory so much, but I do and I can't resist it. Every time someone posts a fic about Wynne's son and it's not Cullen I freak out and want to post "BUT BUT CULLEN IS HER BABY NOT SO-AND-SO" but then I remember I have no proof and it's just fanfiction. :C

My greatest fear is for David Gaider to find this and be all, "Lol, no way." I think I would be sad forever if that were to occur.

And I totally love the idea of Daddy!Gregoir, simply because he seems like such a mean old bear, but if you mess with his kids (re: all the young Templars, like Cullen) he's going to kick your ass.

Also, I want Gregoir/Irving BFF fic so bad it's not even funny.

The game gives them the same model, but you *know* the squishy mages aren't built the same as the Templars. Can't be. No possible way. And yes, Templars are hot. I think it's the innocent Chantry-boy appeal + forbidden attraction + sexy women mages + hot Templars = OMG YES PLEASE ( ... )

I'm just grinning. Oh, the things I would do if I had the game for PC. (And, of course, the PC to run it.)

The lament of a console gamer is wangsty and filled with Halo-flavored tears.

But this! This is rather awesome. :D Nicely done, jakia.

Why thank you!

Yeah, I got Mass Effect 2 for the 360 and have been lamenting that fact every time someone posts something awesome for the PC version. >.< (Damn you Bioware I want Miranda's hair! Not faaaiir!) So I completely understand, truly.

I'm glad other people enjoy my nerdiness. It warms the soul.
