so lately ive been learning alot a/b worship and prayer and its been amazing. God had been really workin in me before, but Pastor Chris really pinpointed something for me this past week at ONE.
Psalms is one of the most popular books in the Bible, not only because if its size and placement, but also because it is a book that can be read chapter by chapter, and not have to back-track to get all the facts. what pastor chris pointed out was the cycle of davids psalms, how the mighty king david, begins so forlorn and broken apart, baqsically weeping to God, complaining a/b the opposition he is encountering. but as david continues to praise God, God builds david up, to the point where, at the end, its sounds like a totally different person. Not a person in mourning, but a person wildly dancing and praising God and His glory.
another example in 1 Kings was david encountering immense opposittion, and david went off by himself and sought refuge in worship, and God delivered him.
so tonight i came to the leadership meeting for Dunamis and i was just flat out broken in spirit, to the point where i felt as thought i couldnt hold myself upright. but as soon as i started to worship, **snap!!**, the Holy Spirit was right there speaking to me and building my spirit up again. AND WOW, what other awesome things God started tonight!! but i have not the time to ellaborate.
but my point is this: worship is not something you go to church to do, it is b.t you and God and can take any place anywhere you are. God wants to build us up through worship, so if you are ever tired, broken, mad, sad, tired, or just want to spend more time with Him, do yourself a favor, and take the time to worship the Living God.
p.s.- David was the bomb diggity
