I'm getting closer. Every time I make waffles, I try to make them taste as good as my mom always used to, yet I never quite get there. There was something about the waffles she'd make, that made them taste better than any other waffles on the entire planet. Sweeter. Fluffier. This time, I added a dash of vanilla to the batter, and it's the closest I've come to replicating the taste. I'm pretty proud of myself actually, it turned out amazing. The rest of the stack of waffles is warming on the stove, the bacon's almost done, and the scrambled eggs are just about ready. Now, I just wait for a stampede into the kitchen to finish off the rest. Since the bacon's cooking, and you can smell it through the house, I'm sure it won't be long.
I'm back in New York, returned here the night before last. Andy had to go to Rwanda, and with everything else that'd happened, Ke was a complete wreck and asked me to come stay with him. So, after being in LA for 3 days, I flew back across the country and here I am again. I don't mind it really, I love being in New York, and every time I come here I meet more new people. But, I do miss LA, and miss the comforts of home. The bright side is though, I've managed to write four new songs during my plane rides, so that's a definite good thing! We'll have some new material coming up for our concert on the 28th that way.
The concert on Sunday went great, we had a good turnout, but it was sort of periodic, people in and out, but for every body that left, another one came in, so it was a pretty good night. Christian did great on guitar, and sounded even better than at the last show, and everything considered, it's astonishing. He always manages to surprise me. I think he has it down to a fine art ;)
And here's the part where I don't quite know what to say to end up my post, so I'll just post an ad for the next show around the LA area. Be there or be square!
;)
