loot and weekend plans
Nope, hasn't worn off. I still stare at Baby Kelery's profile picture several times a day. <3
On Wednesday I hit the 18 weeks mark and while I was sitting on the couch watching a movie with my friend, I felt him move. I'd eaten some candy and then I was messing with my stomach the way the u/s tech did to get him to move so we could find out his sex and well, it worked for her and worked for me! I felt him somersault or swim or whatever it was he was doing in there like 3 times! I felt him a couple of times yesterday too and am hoping the trend continues. :) However, I'm not going to lie, as cool as it was the first time, it was also extremely disconcerting in that my body has been occupied only by me for the past 27 years and now there's something new and alive inside it. Pregnancy is so weird. LoL.
Today we're going to tell Savannah the news that she's getting another little brother. She was hoping for another sister but I think she'll still be excited. We're going to put a blue balloon in a gift bag with Baby Kelery's picture and let her open it and find out that way.
I'm currently using Baby Kelery's bedroom as my office but with the rate we're already accumulating things, I'm not so sure how much longer that's going to last! We've been so blessed with family and friends donating things to us left and right and we haven't even had a shower yet! So far we have the crib my Mom bought, a couple of packs of diapers from one of Elery's childhood friends who has a baby who outgrew them already. The same friend/couple also brought us two HUGE bags of adorable baby boy clothing last night (all different sizes) and they have a regular sized swing and a travel swing for us! And then this week my ILs offered to buy the baby's dresser! We considered a short dresser that could also double as a changing table but then we decided a tall dresser would "grow" better with the baby (and they're the same price!) so we're going to go with this one:
Oh and I ordered a bookcase for storage for the baby's side of the closet a few weeks ago and it came in today so we'll hopefully go get it and start organizing the baby's side of the closet. :)
Ok, something other than baby stuff! We have a busy/fun weekend planned. I think we're going to hit up Carlos O'Kelly's for supper tonight because we have a coupon for a free kid's meal and then tomorrow during the day we're taking Savannah to Kids' Fest. We had a blast there a couple of years back and she still talks about it. The actress who plays Samantha from iCarly is supposed to be there and Savannah LOVES that show so I really hope she's there when we are. In the evening when Sav's spending time with her grandparents' El and I are going to Horizonz (friends' monthly show) which is always a good time. So yeah, packed weekend!
