In the Agamemnon, the ruler at the very instant of his success, the destruction of Troy, in the very act of crossing the threshold of the house for which he has so long been sighing is murdered.

The Libation Bearers (Choëphorae) - directed by Moira Wylie
Orestes avenges his father's murder by putting to death his mother. As to his guilt, a controversy arises among the gods, until divine wisdom, embodied in Athena, balances the claims on either side and puts an end to the long train of crime and vengeance in the royal house of Atreus.

Orestes comes to the temple of Apollo at Delphi as a suppliant, pursued by the Furies.
