A/N: Written for adventdrabbles, prompt #8 - Christmas tree. It's a weird drabble. Sad and cracky. I blame the lack of chocolate.

Crowley loved Christmas trees.

It would probably have surprised quite a number of … beings, if they had known. But it wasn't the scent of the tree or the decorations, the lights or the atmosphere, or even the children's smile, that Crowley loved.

No. All those brightly decorated, beautiful trees were dead. Or they would soon be. Cut down and shoved into Christmas tree stands, tortured with too heavy ornaments and garish tinsel, left until they were dead and then thrown away.

Crowley strolled through the streets, smiling at every poor, dying tree he saw.

He really loved Christmas trees.

Aziraphale loved Christmas trees.

It wasn't surprising. He was an angel, after all.

But he didn't merely love them because of what they stood for. Or because the tree had become the one symbol of Christmas - and of course no angel could not love Christmas.

There were other reasons, too. He loved the scent, the decorations, and the lights. He loved the children's bright smile. He loved that even the lonely, the stressed, those weighed down with sorrow smiled a little when they saw a Christmas tree.

Even Crowley loved Christmas trees.

They were that special.

Aziraphale was almost jealous.
