This man, Philippe Petit, had just one thing he wanted to do: walk a tightrope between the Twin Towers.
They hadn't been built yet. He waited.
It was illegal. He brought in accomplices.
"It's impossible. Let's do it!"
The artistic crime of the century: he spent 45 minutes dancing back and forth on the wire between the towers, one-quarter mile high, with cops on either side waiting to apprehend him. Unfortunately, I can only find pictures of him walking.
