Really, though...this card could be a good (or at least less-bad) idea: imagine if all the "rewards" went to charity or to nonprofit organizations.
Discover's whole "cashback" program, or Bank of America's "keep the change" thingy, only applied to charities. Every time you buy something, X amount, or the reward that you'd normally accrue, gets donated to whatever charities/nonprofits you specify.
THAT might be less egregious than this "save your rewards for DVDs and other great material stuff!" jobby we have here.
