Off roading

Ever since the doctor told me to watch out for my cholesterol, I’ve been eating more health consciously.  Not to say that I won’t stray off the path of good intentions, but it’s never that far of a stray.

I want to stray now.  Bad.

They finally put ads up in the subway stations (I was wondering when they’d get on the ball about that.  I mean, every other city makes extra income off their wall space, why not LA, right?).  So anyways, my stop has these gigantic pillars.  They’re oblong shaped, and wider than my arm span.  Instead of putting ads on the walls, they put the ads on these pillars.  Rather smart, as it’s an interesting spot for an ad, it’ll get a lot of ppl looking at it from both sides, and it’s on the way to the exit, so there’s no way you can miss it.  And btw, these ads are freaking huge.  The whole pillar is looks like a giant McDonald’s Angus burger, and I want one so, so bad.

It doesn’t help that I walk by a McDonald’s twice a day, five times a week.  The homeless guy I say hi to every morning works on that corner, and it’s hard not to see more of these delicious ads.  *drool*

The only thing holding me back is that I never carry my wallet on me (an excellent way to stop impulse purchases), and that I know eating one of these babies will shoot my cholesterol through the roof.  I looked up the nutrition facts (found a dollar off coupon while I was at it), and it’s rather scary.  820 calories and 150 mgs of cholesterol for the swiss and mushrooms version (the only one I’m craving).  Then again, it’s just slightly worse than an In-N-Out double-double, and I will eat those guilt free WITH a chocolate shake...  Damnit, I’m getting hungry.

Ah, screw it.  I’m printing out the coupon.  I'm such a weak willed ninny.  >.<
