Chris' parents visited this weekend and we finally picked out a sofa, actually
a sofa, love seat, and comfy chair set. It was pretty great because I had been really frustrated with Chris the week before. We had been to 5 different stores and he was unhappy with everything. He's still not 100% happy with this set, but his parents convinced him that they don't really make sofas full body support. As long as his lower back is supported and his legs are comfortable, he should be happy. Basically his dad made the same point that I did. Last week, I told him that if he wants neck support he needs to buy a seat out of a plane or a car.
This process was similar to our house hunting experience. Chris and I liked the house that we ultimately ended up in, but we both wanted to continue looking. After 3 more weeks, we were distracted by a house on foreclosure (~130K less than our house), but Chris' parents (and Tammy) were able to help us look at both places objectively. Again he's not 100% happy, but he is happy.
On another note, my parents, Nick, and Lola Luning (Leonor) fly to the Philippines today. Pray for a safe trip. I'm pretty jealous, they're going to a fancy beach resort. I don't know if I can convince Chris to go to another tropical locale.
