ich liebe deutschland.

in the big scheme of things, this isn't really a big deal.
i came home from college, i'm taking some classes at nashua tech (17 credit hours) because i came home too late to go anywhere else, and next year i found a great study abroad program that is not associated with the tech.

i spent a few hours last night with my mom looking for study abroad programs in or near germany... i found an awesome one in salzburg, austria. all of the classes i take there will count towards either keene or unh, whichever one i decide to apply to when it comes down to that next year. a bunch of the new england schools have a deal thing with the university in salzburg.
i am taking a german class at the tech that was actually designed for kids who were planning on going to switzerland for second semester, so i'm pretty sure i'll be decent at speaking german by christmas time :)
salzburg is an hour and a half from munich, which is perfect, in my opinion, because if i have a free weekend or something, i can always go visit fabi, or he can come to see me if he's not too busy, because he'll be starting college too.
i don't want to get my hopes up too much about this, but it really seems like a great program where i can earn a lot of credit hours, and i'll be immersed in a german speaking country, and my big goal right now is to learn german!

i know a lot of you are really disappointed in my choice to come back to merrimack, but it really is what i needed to do for myself right now. i expected all the judgments, but i didn't expect some people to completely ignore me and my attempts to get ahold of them, that just makes me angry.
a lot of this wasn't any of peoples' business anyway, and i'm very glad that a few people did support me and my decision to come home so quickly. i'm just upset that i feel like this could have negatively effected a friendship that i thought was awesome before.

anyway, overall, i am happy with my decision and i am happy that i found a great program for learning german where i can also take business classes and some things on international relations and i'm glad my credits will transfer.
i am happy to be home.

edit: i am editing to clarify that i will be attending ncc for this whole first year, then in the spring i will apply for the study abroad program for fall 2009 in salzburg through AIFS, which is actually the program that Peter came to the USA through, and since there is an association between UNH, Keene, and this university in salzburg, i will be able to transfer to either one of those, mostly likely UNH because they have a business school and that's what i'm leaning towards right now. anyway, i hope that makes it more clear as to what i'm doing with myself.
