omg an update....merry xmas all

Well....according to LJ it's been 8 weeks since my last update. School absolutely killed me, but I pulled off my straight-A's. I'm very proud of myself, this is the 3rd semester i've gotten straight-A's in a row and I had never gotten straight-A's before. Not even in high school or middle school, I was always an A-B student.

I thought as soon as school was done i'd be able to relax. For awhile I did, I managed to read The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carri Ryan. I picked it because all my favorite authors recommended it. But I won't recommend it. It was a cross between Shyamalan's The Village and Resident Evil. And I personally found the ending disappointing. After that though I slacked. I've been trying to start Old School by Tobias Wolff because a classmate recommended it to me. I like the language so far, but I haven't gotten past the first few pages.

I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas although i'm very late in doing so. Me and my son stayed home in our PJ's by ourselves, away from all family drama, and it was very nice. Still, it's been difficult because the Italian, my amazing bf has been in Germany since Dec 10 and won't be home til Jan 7 or so. He went to visit his family, since his mom is from Germany and he hasn't seen his family in 15 years.

I can never seem to find the time in the day for anything anymore. In school or not. I want to write. In fact just yesterday I wrote my bf a novel length email that I know he'll never read because he hates reading, too A.D.D. If only writing stories were that easy for me. I mean, look at this. I meant for it to be a short Merry Christmas and i'm verging on novel already. I miss that spark I had 4 years ago where anyone on my flist could give me a prompt and out would pop a drabble so easily, and often even a 3500+ word story. I suck now.

Next semester I'm taking my fiction class again, but this time with my favorite teacher. He's a famous author, Benjamin Alire Saenz. And I love him because not only is he super friendly and helpful, but he's everything I want to be. He writes Children's books, Young Adult novels, Adult novels, and even does art on the side. A painter like me. There was a party in his home that I took my bf to, his home is incredible and my bf was able to see why I like this teacher so much, and even talk to him. I have this great Children's book idea that I already talked to him about at the party and i'm hoping he can help me clean it up. I want to take it to the local publisher, which happens to be his publisher, and if they like what I write they'll even find me an illustrator. *crossing my fingers* It would be nice to have a little extra income so I don't have to depend on my student loans which always run out at the worst times. And it'll come in handy for vacation, my now regular summer vacation to a beach in Mexico, and this spring break as well because me and my bf finally have the same break and my son is with his dad.

Oh and OMG, my divorce was officially finalized the day before Halloween, after a 3 year separation because neither of us could afford it. But the greatest news is that I have finally finished changing my name back to my maiden name. And my bankruptcy case finalizes on Dec 28. Sooooooooo....I get to start the new year debt free and with my maiden name. It'll truly be a fresh start. Even my bf and I have agreed to leave the past behind us, especially this past year, and start the new year fresh ourselves.

Alright, see what I mean? Novel length. And yet I can't write more than a paragraph of a story. Ugh. Anyway, I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and was able to get everything they wanted from Santa and more. He couldn't help me with putting my bf in my arms, but the good morning "I love you" I got was perfect. Hopefully it won't take me 8 weeks to update again, I hope to say Happy New Years, but if I don't make it, then know that I'm thinking of everyone and wishing you all well. :) Ok, i'm done now. Novel over.

The end. hehe :)
