Ok what I didn't mention in the post before was my car....gah! So my air conditioner went out at the beginning of summer. It took the Italian two months to get a chance to look at it when we found out it was the condenser, so his dad found another one for me, but it still took a little while before he could find time to install it. Finally he spends an entire night taking the whole front end of my car apart only to find out the condenser was wrong. :( I needed the 02-04 condenser and his dad had unintentionally gotten the 99-01. So to keep from doing the work twice we left my car in pieces and he drove me to and from home and the business (which I helped him at work to say thanks for fixing my car...including working on my car myself).
So my car was disassembled for about two weeks. During which time I also took out all the dents and scratches in my bumper and he repainted it for me so it looks brand new. We also fixed my horn which hadn't worked in two months either, my windshield wiper hoses which happened to be leaking, and a bunch of other things I had put off. We finished the car two days before we were supposed to go on vacation. And the car was great our entire trip. Until....
As we were crossing the border back into Arizona...and I mean literally...RIGHT after the border patrol agent said to cross, it happened. My radiator cracked. Dammit! So we kept stopping to put fluid the entire 8 hour drive back. He let me borrow his car the next day to pick up Dade in Albuquerque. And I had to borrow multiple cars while my car spent another week there. Luckily all it needed was a spot weld and not a whole new radiator. But seriously it sucked. All good now though.
Ok, now on to school...my original topic.
So I wanted to take it easy this semester cuz I got my first C last semester and struggled horribly, so I didn't want to take any necessary block courses. I finished my basics already and now just need my upper division requirements. But I'm still doing really good in my English classes since it's my major and all so that's all I took this semester.
English 2312: The second half of my English and American Literature course from last semester.
English 3320: A class entirely dedicated to Shakespeare which I fell for last semester.
Creative Writing 3362: My last pre-requisite for my major. HURRAY!
Also...foreign language classes can only be started in the fall so I figured I might as well get it out of the way cuz I really suck in it. I really didn't want to take Spanish because I had three years of it in school and don't feel comfortable with it still (though actually I had an entire conversation with the octopus guy in Mexico who spoke not a single word of English and I was all "RIGHT ON!") So I was going to take German because the Italian's mom is from Germany, but then all of a sudden...I FOUND AN ITALIAN COURSE!!!!
So yeah I'm taking Italian as my 4th class. And I'm loving it. I'm picking it up so much faster than Spanish. And the Italian is amazed by that fact because whenever possible I speak to him in Italian to practice. Him and his parents never expected me to learn as much as I did in the last two weeks.
And that's about all for now, so....
Dove andare. A presto. Ciao!
