No, sadly that is sometimes the way of the world, but then, for the phoenix, just knowing the dragon could be enough to teach it to live again on it's own. The dragon and the phoenix met for a reason - even if it was only to open the phoenix's eyes to the possibility of that sort of love.

That sounds like what the dragon told me. But the phoenix loved once before and never thought she could love again. The dragon was serendipity. And without the dragon the phoenix will burn out once again.

No, it won't because that is the very nature of the phoenix - to rise from the ashes renewed, and this phoenix will, too, when it's ready.

I think the phoenix lost it's will to fly from the perch overlooking the dragon, and it's will to renew. But I do know that's the very nature of the phoenix, it' just hard to accept.
