Closed, closed, closed, closed, closed, and closed are the most helpful responses I've gotten from all my call backs thus far.
For one position, I applied on the 6th of May, and apparently that throws me into the late pile. To quote the Human Resources manager, "don't count on it."
There are some places that just apparently never ever pick up their phones or even provide any sort of acknowledgment that they've received your application.
I feel so rejected and useless.
I had such a successful year at school, but I feel like it means nothing out here in the 'real world' when apparently I'm not even qualified to answer a phone or punch data.
Perhaps I should significantly lower my standards and see if an A average in university qualifies me to deliver drinks to tables or ring through dollar store merchandise? Maybe my background in the liberal arts has best prepared me to do laundry or clean floors?
I'm just really discouraged with this whole process right now, and mad at myself for apparently missing too many deadlines and falling into late piles where I'm going to get ignored.
