an open letter to facebook

My sister wrote it, and I am posting it here for the world to see. :)

Dear Facebook team,
I appriciate the time that it took to give facebook a "facelift", but
the bottom line is that it is way too stalkerish and creepy, also it is
very very very confusing. I go to college to work hard on class, i
love facebook because it gives me a break in my work to just chill on
the computer. now, facebook gives me a headache with all the new
details and the updates and every single little stalkerish thing that
appears on my screen. It freaks me out to know that Wendy has a new
favorite movie. Or that Jill has changed her realtionship status from
single to it's complicated. The thing about facebook is it's fun to
look for yourself at people's updated profiles to see what's different.
Also, i know who wrote on my wall. I get an email and i check my
facebook like 10 times a day. I don't need you to tell me again.
Furthermore, I know what walls I wrote on. I was there. I wrote it. I
don't know why you need to tell me that. Here is why people like
facebook. It's like a little suprise when you get on the computer.
Now you just destroyed the best thing you had going for you....the
mystery of what will be on your site. I just looked at facebook for
the first time today and got a headache. I shouldn't need a masters
degree to be able to read facebook. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Facebook wasn't broken and you "fixed" it and now by "fixing it",
facebook has become slightly sucky. Now, I believe in the power of a
good facebook, so i know that you can fix the situation, because all
i've heard today around campus is how angry people are about the new
website. People are so attached to your website that they will scream
with anger or cry when something has happened to their favortie place
to go after class. I will take a direct quote that I heard from a guy
in the diag, "I hate you facebook, stop changing." If you don't
believe me, put a poll on your website so people can vote if they like
the new look. I really don't think they will because out of over
40,000 students at Michigan, I haven't heard one positive respone about
it yet. I don't think you understand the magnitude of the situation,
EVERYONE on campus is talking about it with underwhelming reviews.
Everyone i pass on the street is talking about it, all my friends are
talking about it. I've gotten 5 calls today just because people are so
upset, they need to talk out their feelings about facebook. Please use
this information the best way possible, aka, change it back please.
Thanks a bunch (i still love facebook, but a part of the love died).
Love,
Cassie
