so....
so last night was pretty much amazing. we had the best thanksgiving dinner EVER! everybody made different foods. like i said before, i made the stuffing...from scratch because there is no stove top anything here. and it was pretty much amazing. we had like...20 pounds of potatoes (no really im not exxagerating) and like....10 different desserts. everything from pumpkin pie, to pumpkin tarts, to chocolate strawberry cheesecake, to homeade apple pie. to say i was in meal heaven would give no justice. afterwards...i realized why it is a bad idea to eat 2 full plates of food in under two hours and drink a lot of wine. yea...lets just say i was a little sick when i got back.
but it was so cool, all the faculty members came, the school provided the alcohol, not to mention some of the faculty themselves. we had wine, music, and just a good time. it was all matt's doing. he was the one who organized the whole thing and came up with the idea of a grand thanksgiving feast so...major kudos to him. did i mention he's amazing? well, yea...and everyone had such a great time. "just like home" i heard a lot of ppl say "just like mama used to make it" and since many ppl have been getting really homesick lately, this was just what they needed.
afterwards, i decided to lie down a bit (let some of the food settle). and then around 1am i decided to call the folks (it was only 6pm there). they were well, and happy, i talked to my uncle and my grandma for the first time since i got here, that was really cool. anyway, i hope everyone else had a great, happy thanksgiving. peace out.
