I want to poll about and talk about
More specifically, 1980s John Hughes movies, when he was at his peak and not writing under pseudonyms or bad sequels to earlier films. All this "Back-to-School" Hoopla has me thinking about him, though I don't have children yet. I can't lie and say I was a teenager with the brat-pack or when those films came out like another writer of this blog can. I'm too young to tell you about how I felt seeing Pretty in Pink in the theaters. I think I was learning cursive and fractions at the time. But like sooooo many others, his films still spoke to me, especially Breakfast Club, though please don't let that shade or influence your answers. This poll will include everything he wrote, directed, produced or any combination of two or all three of these in the 1980s. Please check all that you enjoyed and add any thoughts or memories you might have about this talented trend-setter.
Poll John Hughes Films from the Eighties I will be honest (again, don't let this sway or bias you) I am not a huge fan of the National Lampoon stuff but the so-called 'Brat-Pack' films and their soundtracks take me straight to a time and place. I was just Curious if any had the same effect on you and if so, which ones and what are your memories.
Love, Peace, and New Wave Goodness,
Zu
PS, Before anyone else mentions it, I will admit here and now that I did, do, and will always crush on Judd Nelson as John Bender. There. I said it. Happy?!? =)
