sent you a letter

Dear You,

How are you? It's been a while, hasn't it? I never mean these whiles to be as long as they are, but it happens. It, of course, being life--which I'm LIVING. Seems I've shaken my shell and am taking my first steps out and about. Crazy, huh?

So, what does living entail? Moviegoing. Working two jobs and working on finding a third. Helping my dad. Socializing. Partying. Nothing too crazy, mind--just learning what my boundaries are and finding that they're nowhere near as confining as I thought. I may push the boundaries once or twice--I've indulged in my fair share of stupidity--but, for the most part, I'm either at work or at home. It's a life.

Speaking of lives, my dad just ended his working life. He finally retired at the age of 67--and if it weren't for his osteoarthritis, he would have kept at it for a another year. So now, there are usually two people in this apartment every morning and afternoon. Drives the cat crazy, and retired dad and crazy cat are driving me crazier. But we'll adjust. I've adjusted to worse.

Oh, yeah, that reminds me: My health. That ascites that put me up in the hospital in the winter of 2009? Seems to be a freak occurence, as no related problems have surfaced. Personally, I blame the drugs I was prescribed for my eye surgery. But, like I said, freak occurence. As for the rest of me, I seem to be healthy. (Healthy meaning "I'm not in the hospital.") A little tired from time to time, but who isn't? The plus side is that I can nap on a dime! As for that low-sodium diet--well, it's more of a "reduced sodium diet" now. Hey, sometimes a girl's gotta be bad.

So, what's next for me? Getting that third job. Working my ass off. Fantastic Fest 2011. And maybe a weekend over on the island, as well as one in Seattle. And saving money for 2012, for when I finally go to Toronto, AND try to do both SxSW and Fantastic Fest. Hey, I'm like Pepsi Throwback, babe: I'm only here for a limited time only. So might as well make it sweet and good!

No longer like Shakespeare,
