places we support (#1 in a series)

Last night, after a few days of alternating between shutting itself down and not being able to shut off, my computer fell into a coma. It would power up, but nothing would actually load. Since I had no idea what to do, I took my computer to someone who would: the fine people at Intertech. Not only did they build my baby, they're also the closest computer place to my house. On top of that, they do good work and stand behind their products, which keeps me coming back for all the right reasons.

Fearing the worst--something majorly wrong and a loss of my computer until sometime next week--I took my computer in right away. Within minutes, Mr. Hui has removed the case and started troubleshooting. Within a few more minutes, he's got a diagnosis (overburdened power supply) and a cure (disconnect my old hard drives). And just as soon as all that's done, we're headed back to the apartment with our computer. No charge, either.

And today, my computer's as good as new--save for the loss of the power-up light that used to remind me of a blue version of HAL. But we'll live, I'm sure. I'm really just glad to have it back.
