There are two ways to get to the Ridge from my house. The first, and the shortest, is to take the twenty-five from Fraser to Arbutus, then walk on down to 16th. The second is to take the Fraser, then the Broadway, then the Arbutus bus up to 16th. Both need either skillful planning or good bus luck; if you catch the twenty-five on time, you can make it to the theatre in under 45 minutes, but miss it and you're screwed. Same with making bus connections along the Broadway corridor. Throw in evening and Sunday scheduling, and things get trickier.
In any case, I missed the bus, and rather than attempt to get there anyway, I decided to learn from past experiences and came back home. So no Romero action for me tonight. Ah well. There's always tomorrow--but then I'd have to hope to get off early enough to make the 7:30 showtime. Blast!
