Why I chose her - She's an interesting one. For someone her age she picks and has been picking incredibly incredibly mature roles which is why it is so surprising when you see how young she is and to see all the adult roles she has been playing. She did not go the typical route most actresses her age go and it is because of that she has accomplished being one of the most in demand actresses working today and also a huge mega star. It's weird because I had seen and known her since Ghost World and I never ever ever dreamed she would be as huge as she is. She looks so different now. Now someone who is working as much as she is and will be for the next while kind of makes me worry she might eventually run out of steam but I don't think that will be a very big problem. She also hasn't really gotten that real breakout performance yet. She's given many good performances, a couple of great ones but I think she still has to give that one performance that really shows that she can hold her own in these movies that she picks. She's already proven herself with her choice of films which has pretty much been impeccable and she boasts one of the most impressive resumes that most actresses get in there whole careers and I can't even believe the amount of stuff she will be working on in the next year or two. I think working with older men while playing the part of a much younger girl has something to do with the mature films she picks. Seriously The Man Who Wasn't There (Billy Bob Thornton), Ghost World (although she wasn't the one, she was the best friend of the girl involved with an older man, Lost in Translation (Bill Murray), Girl with a Pearl Earring (Colin Firth), A Love Song for Bobby Long (John Travolta). And I'm just mentioning the noticably older men. I'm not even including Aaron Eckhart, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor who are all on average 15 years older. I think she has a thing for older guys. Also I read this one report about some diva like attitude she showed but a) you can't trust anything you read completely and b) I'm sure most of these people on both of these lists have diva like qualities either from time to time or a lot of the time. You don't always know which ones so it's pointless to try and figure it out. You just have to judge them by their work. And her work is quite impressive. She's got a great husky voice. She can play the can of homely normal girl (Lost in Translation, Ghost World, In Good Company) and she can play the bombshell also (The Black Dahlia, The Prestige, Match Point) Also, yeah her physical attributes are sick. I mean really sick, it's simultameously refreshing to see someone who is full-bodied and who said herself she doesn't work out. So it's nice to watch her for her beauty, her talent and her impeccable ridiculously impressive choice of work.
Scarlett Johannson:
Born November 22nd 1984 (23 years old)
Received an "introducing" credit for
The Horse Whisperer (1998) although it was her seventh feature film.
Has a twin brother,
Hunter Johansson.
Was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in June 2004.
Shortly after
Lost in Translation (2003) was released, she said she had a connection to older men and couldn't see herself dating anyone under 30. True to her word, she had a relationship with actor
Benicio Del Toro, who is 17 years her senior.(OH MY GOD!! I swear I did not read this before I wrote my theory. YES!!! I am amazing)
She donated many items to
Rocky Stone to be given to less fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign.
Chosen by FHM readers as "Sexiest Woman Alive" in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World (2006).
"I have a lot of actor friends who worked with their parents closely and have had really horrible experiences. They end up suing or being emancipated. The wonderful thing about my mom [who is also her manager] is that she completely respects my creative weirdness and supports any decision I make."
"The most precious moment in life is when you're about to fall in love. You're lying in bed together and he's gazing at you and you're gazing at him and there's a sense that something truly wondrous is about to happen. It's a nervous moment - but it's exhilarating."
"I don't talk about my personal relationships, it always ends up kicking you in the face. But I've read a lot of things about myself and think, `Wow! That girl sounds really saucy.'"
"Well, you put a little piece of yourself into every character that you do. Even if you're playing some psychotic person, which of course I'm not, some part of you is in that character and it's hopefully believable. I always come back to the fact that my own instinct is better than something I build in my mind."
