MovieMars review

Long time no post xD New job keeps me pretty damn busy (and tired)......that didn't come out right. Anyway!

About a year ago I lent out my copy of Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition to a friend. During the time I tried to get it back after a couple months, she had moved twice and the box had gotten crushed in the move. She said she was going to get me a replacement since she didn't want to return it to me in that kind of condition (she knows I'm a collector and I like my cases and boxes to be neat and tidy). Well, long story short, shit happened and I knew I'd never see my DVDs again. We're still friends, though; I'm not going to end a friendship over a DVD xD

Anyway, I decided it was time to get the replacement myself since the Extended Edition is no longer being made. I went to my trusty Amazon Marketplace on November 27th (a Saturday) and started nosing around. The first one I saw was from MovieMars, a site I'd ordered from in the past with good results. Instead of buying through Amazon, I went to their webiste directly and bought it from them the same day.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they had the box set for only about $22 whereas other people were trying to sell them for closer to $50 if not more. My order shipped out three days later on Wednesday and arrived just yesterday through USPS (slowest shipping option available since I'm cheap and not really in a hurry xD). I'll admit I was a bit worried when I saw French on the back of the set (it's been almost ten years since I originally bought it, so I don't recall if it was the same then as well) along with a sticker saying something about Canada and French language options. I immediately played the discs and sure enough everything is in English; I think it just may have shipped from a Canadian supplier, hence the additional notices about French language tracks. Everything is aboslutely pristine, not dents, no scratches, everything plays great, the booklet is intact, everything is just wonderful! I no longer have a sense of loss and disappointment when I look at my DVD collection and see only two of the three extended editions now that I've completed the trilogy once again.

I normally use only Amazon or GoHastings for my DVD orders, but now I have a third option in MovieMars, and I think they just may replace GoHastings on my list.
