A list of ethnicities people have asked me if/assumed that I belonged to, other than Italian:
Spanish
Brazilian
Jewish
Greek
Random Hispanic (they just started speaking Spanish to me. And not when I was in a Spanish-speaking country.)
An ethnicity that no one has EVER asked me if/assumed that I belong to:
Irish
Which is interesting, since I'm as much Irish as I am Italian. And I look JUST like my Irish mother. Well, a negative image of my mother (she has light hair and eyes and tan skin; I have dark hair/eyes and super-fair skin.)
Actually, come to think of it, she's not 100% Irish. Dad is 100% Italian, which makes me 50%, but Mom is only 75% Irish, which means I'm...fuck...um...37.5% Irish and 12.5% German. (Which I've never admitted before, ever. Germans are fuckers.) You think that missing 12.5% really messes things up? Like if Great-Grandma had been Irish too I might have had (naturally occurring) red hair? Or people would ask if I was, I don't know, Norwegian?
I feel like I have no German traits at all. Shouldn't I be efficient? Or like David Hasselhoff?
