I hate to admit it, but it is. I still don't think it's the best idea, and it's certainly not for everyone. But the way it's set up is rather awesome. :)
I tried to block out the names somewhat but still be able to show what it looks like.
This is my friend's list. I have one Real ID friend up there... my husband. His name (his real name... the one on his Battle.net account) is in a pretty blue color, and the toon he was on (his bank toon in this case lol) is in parenthesis over to the side in yellow. Real ID friends are always first. My other friends are listed normally in alpha order.
The place up there that says "Happy gaming" is a little status report a-la Facebook or similar. Only your Real ID friends see it.
Also, you can have "conversations" with your Real ID friends in a separate tab in your chat window. Only you and your real-ID friends are in that converasation, and it's a very pretty aquamarine blue color. Your Real ID friends whispers are in that pretty aqua color too.
So... I like it, but I don't know how much it'll get used, rofl. Still... it's pretty nicely set up.
HOWEVER, the patch to install it killed my game. D: Well, it killed Dalaran to be precise. At least it's not only me having the issue... it's everyone with 64 bit operating systems and Blizzard is aware of the problem and working on it. It has something to do with the game pulling too much memory when it really shouldn't and crashing, usually in Dalaran.
Lots of people on the forums are really upset about it. I'm not really upset... as long as they fix it. There are people posting all kinds of tempoary fixes and file changes and blah blah blah. The way I look at it, I didn't cause the problem so it shouldn't be up to me to fix it. Blizzard should fix it for everyone. And I think they are, it'll just take time. Until then I'll just have to play in Dalaran with my view distance as low as it goes and pretend it's a foggy day, lol!
