BOW-WOW HUKILAU
Okay I know weird title. I got this flyer in my other aol email, and it was from the puppy raiser co-ordinator. The Arizona group which is offically named GDD-AZ is having one of it's major fund raisers not this Saturday, but next Saturday the 16th. They've themed the party a Luau, hence the Bow-wow hukilau thing. It's at a local golf resort here in town that I guess is pretty snazzy. Now don't ya'll be thinking I'm going to whack a stupid little ball down some grass and go chasing it that sucks. So there is going to be a "no-host" bar "Margarita's anyone?" I'm defenetly going to have one or two LOL. Then there's dinner, and a couple of Hawaiian style entertainment acts. Traditional Hula dancers I guess. Then there's dancing afterwards.
I have no idea what I'm doing lol. But I was reading this flyer, and something told me to go. I usually don't go to most things held by GDD-AZ because I don't have a ride and the bus system sucks. In a perfect world graduates wouldn't have to want for a ride to any school function. So I wrote the co-ordinator who sent me the flyer, and told her I was game, but that I would need a ride to and fro. She was so cool, she immediately sent out an email to the entire GDD-AZ group, and a ride was found with one of my classmates when I got Lila and her husband and daughter. Oh Lord I hope they have a big suburban type thing. There's going to be me and three other people (that I know of) in the car, my dog Mac, the other Cynthia's dog Jasper, her retired dog (who's a school ambassador dog) Tyus, and their career changed dog (who's also an ambassador. Her husband will have Tyus, Cynthia will have Jasper, her daugher will have the CC dog, and I'll have Mac but please dear God have a big car.
Then I don't know what struck me but I'm like "ohmygodihavenothingtoweartoadance". So I started rummaging in my mother's closet. Good thing my mother and I are the same size. I've come up with a really nice flowery type skirt, and we can't find the shirt that goes with the skirt yet so I'll have to search for a blouse that matches. Then today I'm thinking "There's no way in heck I'm wearing a skirt with tennis shoes" So when we went to wal-mart I had to find some sandals. I don't do high heels, and anything with a heel higher than a tennis shoe kills me. I found a really cute pair of sandals and it's amazing but they don't hurt my feet and they go with my outfit. My mom was actually amazed that I bought myself a pair of shoes. I hardly ever buy myself shoes, and when I do it's mostly tennis shoes.
So my outfit was taken care of. Then I thought "Well I can't let my date/Mac, go nekkid to a luau" So I started looking for dog stuff. I can't put him in a skirt, he's a boy dog. I couldn't find a pair of Hawaiian trunks that would fit him right. So I went on www.dog.com, and I found the cutest Hawaiian shirt for dogs. They had pink, green, and blue and I got the blue one. It should be here Tuesday. Then while we were at wal-mart, I hit up their Luau supplies and I snagged a couple of pretty cool looking Hawaiian lei's. Mac's matches his shirt, and mine will match my skirt. So we are both set for our outfits.
I'm taking my camera and I'm taking a bunch of pictures for the school's website so I'll probably have a bunch I can upload to my photobucket account to show you guys when the luau is over.
I'm just going to go and have a blast, maybe I'll win a raffle prize or something. I can't dance for shit, but I'll sure as heck try.
