I am so in awe of Obama's balls of steel right now, I can't even tell you. In the current political environment, for him to come right out and say he supports gay marriage. YOWZA. I am quite sure I never faced true predjuice around being gay. I cross the straight line too well, especially now. I had a few things hissed at me in the early days of my "coming out", when I wore my mullet and plaid with pride and boldly held my gf's hand on the street corner, but not really hate. Not the kind of hate that cuts families off from one another. I had friends of course, but my people, my immedidate people, were always supportive. Always. Even when I brought B home, transgendered and diagnosed with HIV. They knew from the very begining that he loved me and I loved him and that was all that really mattered to them. I loved Obama's point to the interviewer about people on HIS OWN STAFF, that were in commited monogamous relationship and raising children together, how can he in all honesty deny them the right to be RECOGNIZED. Boo-ya Mr. President. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I seriously hope it doesn't cost you the election.
