Last night Dan had to work:(, so when I got home from work... I said goodbye to Sally (my sister) and started making some dinner for me and Bode.  We had some butternut squash leftovers...with cinnamon & nutmeg. It was very tasty and I also made us some quick potato and cheese peirogies.  Also tasty and Bode liked both.  Then after a quick clean up we got into the car to go to Lowes.  Since we moved the TV room back into the Family Room with the new carpet we still needed to get some bumpers for the fireplace hearth and I also wanted to pick up some more cabinet latches and stove knob covers/locks.  Well, when I was pulling out of the driveway I saw that the streets were all wet and I thought it was raining out.  But, nope it was SNOWING! I love snow.  I don't like being cold but I love getting warmed up by a fire, I love drinking hot cocoa, wearing turtlenecks and slippers, and wool sweaters!  I like to ski and take snowy winter walks, go sledding, snowshoeing, tabogganing, etc.  I like winter...I can't help it.  Summer is oh so much fun and I couldn't live without it but winter has a special place in my heart too!  I tried living in Florida and yeah it's nice to always wake up to warm sunny days, but you really miss the winter and most of all the SNOW!  This winter is going to be so much more fun because of Bode.  He loves the snow!  As we were walking from the car into the store, he was amazed at the sight of white flakes falling from the sky.  He was even keeping his jacket hood on!  It was really too cute.  I wore him into the store and he had both arms reached up with his hands trying to catch the snow flakes and his face smiling big and squinting as the snow hit his face and eyes.  This is really going to be a great winter!

Oh, we did manage to find some bumpers for the hearth which would work wonders if Bode was able to keep from peeling them off the stone.  Can't they come up with anything better then double sided tape for these things ?Really, my child isn't even 15 months and he can peel it right off!  I did also pick up some more cabinet latches (which hopefully Dan can install soon.  Bode can now reach the silverware door-uh oh!) and some stove knob locks which I'm not sure if I like either.  Every time you want to turn the stove on you have to remove the safety guard.

first snow, bode, childproofing
