… see you next year!
Leaving was made a bit harder by my friends being all fabulous and throwing me, rather impromptu and last-minute but nevertheless, My First Ever Surprise Party. There was cake, copious amounts of drink and singing! (Happy birthday as no one could think of any song more appropriate).
Leaving was made even harder in the morning when after two hours of sleep and hangover of the decade I still had half of the packing left to do…
Leaving was however made easier by the fact that I now get to have la baguette instead of square white sponge bread, le métro instead of central trains, cafés instead of pubs, le Louvre instead of that bloody landscape photographer, Champs-Elysées instead of New Street, la cuisine francaise instead of baked beans, Au Pop-In instead of Snobs, the Eiffel Tower instead of the Wheel and la Rive Gauche instead of Selly Oak.
Paris will have to wait a little bit though, in Brussels now and going to Sweden as well to see the sights, the friends and the family so will post with le news in a couple of weeks when there
