Drabbles: Weekly Drabble Challenge: Viciously and Decomposition

Jul 21, 2008 15:50

This is an excerpt from a short story I wrote a while ago, called Alien Plan.

Word Count: 197
Pictures: 2
Involves: Pascal Curious
Warning: non-sexual nudity

Pascal Curious took a deep, sudden breath, and opened his eyes.

Why was it so dark and cold? Why did it hurt so much to breathe?

Suddenly, he remembered, and in a panic, he felt his abdomen, not knowing if he should be horrified or relieved to find it still flat. Why couldn’t he remember? Had the implantation of the Birth Queen been successful? Where was he? He appeared to be standing on something solid, but he could not see the ground at all. It was only blackness; all around him and under his feet.

He spun around, wildly looking from side to side.

Wherever he was, he was alone. He had obviously been unsuccessful, and the world was lost. That was the only explanation he could think of.   He was here, in this emptiness, for that was what the alien race had viciously done to him after they had implanted their Birth Queen.

Now that She was born, he was no longer needed, but they hadn’t killed him... they had just left him here to await decomposition.  Forgotten and alone.

He sank to his knees.  All was lost.

The aliens ruled the world now.
