Whee, I'm so glad you saw it!

I don't know what's gotten into me lately, but all I've been wanting to do is play Sims 2 again. I've been playing it off and on, but couldn't really settle on a theme of what I was wanting to accomplish. The movie was a fun little project that popped into my head when I randomly heard part of that song. ^_^

Making videos can be a pain in the butt for sure. This one wasn't so bad, because I was trying to convey the out-of-the-box Strangetown as it would be for anyone starting up the town for the first time. It made it easier for me because I didn't have to worry about using many animation hacks or mods to set up the shots. I did use a few, like to get Olive to romantically interact with the Grim Reaper I had to create a Grim Reaper sim in CAS and move him in... but Olive and the Grim Reaper having some sort of a romance is canon after all.

It's a lot easier setting up a still shot than it is a movie. Mostly because you can't move the camera around much once it starts rolling. I mean, you can... but it doesn't translate well to the video. Like the scene in this movie where Nervous fell out of that machine, he actually fell off the frame, and I had to move the camera down to finish the shot, so I had to end up splicing that piece of video together. What I should have done was make him do it again, and kept the floor in the center of the camera, just to get him falling... and then spliced the two scenes together (him being electrocuted and then him falling.) I think it would have looked a lot less choppy that way. But meh. /shrug

It's also a pain getting it to match up with the music if you're using any. But that's mostly dealt with in your movie maker software.

I really loved that this song had a violin solo lol. Pascal always seemed to me to be some sort of musical prodigy, what with his 10 creative points he starts the game with but also being on the geeky side. Plus, way back when I was just playing the base game and didn't know anything about the canon, he would show up at my sims' houses and once they greeted him if they had a piano he would go play it and everyone would end up gathering around and cheering. It was like, I SEE YOU HAVE A PIANO AND ALTHOUGH I'VE NEVER HAD ONE IN MY LIFE LET ME PERFORM FOR YOU THE ENTIRE COLLECTED WORKS OF BEETHOVEN. Heehee!
