I long for an identity of a person who would not have to be ashamed of or in pain.

I am a Jewish Russian.

As a Russian I intensly suffer from what is happening between Russia and Ukrain as I don't want a war! I don't want a war anywhere in the world, but especially i don't want it in my house and with my neighbours. I am ashamed of what is happening. I refuse to take any political side here. I am sure we are being lied to constantly and on daily basis.

As a Russian I am also shocked, appalled and disgusted to see what is happening with the law system in my country. It is almost comical except for the fact that they are actually serious. They have prohibited the import of some type of underwear into Russia. They require people with two citizenships inform the government about it. They try to make airticket and hotel booking websites unavailable. They try to control the people of the country and strip us of our basic rights. I am not even talking about our right to express ourselves, our right for justice, our right for chosing the goverment - of those rights we have been long since stripped.

As a Jew I suffer from people being killed for political and hatred reasons. None of those I consider sufficient for a murder.

I long for an identity of a person who would not have to be ashamed of or in pain for what his country is doing or suffering.
