Day 18 - Your favorite birthday, in great detail
I have a love hate relationship with my birthday. I love the idea of it, count down to it... but then I don't know... Something happens every year to ruin it.
My favorite, I think, would be my 21st. Not for the reason you think, either. In general the day sucked. My friends ditched me. My family forgot. I was in Flagstaff and it was a Monday so everything was. closed and I was a little hurt. But then Timm, the wonderful boyfriend he was, poured me a glass of red wine and handed it to me at 12:01 and said, "Drink this, Liz. Cause I'm celebrating the day you were born." And it was so entirely sweet and new and full of love that I drank a sip and gave him a huge kiss. Three days later we drove to Vegas and just vacationed together, the two of us. He was ... he was the first person to make me feel like they were celebrating the day I was brought into this world. Best. Birthday. Ever.
